In this article, we provide an outline of how to remodel a bathroom.

How To Remodel A Bathroom In 12 Steps

1. Design Your Bathroom

With the help of your contractor or designer, take the first step to bring your vision to life and create a design for your new bathroom.  It will be a bathroom you can picture yourself getting ready in the morning and relaxing after a long day.

2. Prep The Work Area

Your contractor will need to prepare the space for demolition which may include setting up dust barriers with air scrubbers, delivering materials to the job site, and protecting flooring and walls in the rest of the home.

3. Demolition

Your contractor will need to take apart your current bathroom.  This can include removing and disposing of the vanities, the flooring, fixtures, tile and more.

4. Rough Work

This is updating the electrical and plumbing for older bathrooms or moving around the fixtures or lights.

5. Insulation and Drywall

Replacing the walls can make your bathroom more comfortable improving temperature control, noise reduction, and even making more space. This can make your bathroom experience more comfortable.

6. Painting

Now your contractor will come in to paint your walls the color you want.

Now we’re getting into the fun part of remodeling a bathroom.  Your contractor is going to implement the design elements selected and tile the shower area and wherever else you want tiles.

9. Glassdoor Installation

Your contractor will add in some of the items that make a bathroom a bathroom.

11.  Countertops

Your contractor will attach the countertops to the vanities. The sink and faucet are installed.
